I plan on writing paper number two on the idea of covering, a word that exemplifies, barriers and how we need to overcome them. I think that people covering their identities and masking their personal traits is what creates barriers in the first place. In order to lift such barriers, we need to eliminate covering in society. Yet, some covering is necessary to keep an orderly society, and some is forced as people feel attacked or judged, or even some feel they are treated with bias. Covering traits of ones self can ultimately portray a completely different person to others, and I find it important that we all are our authentic selves to have a more pure society. While covering is the most important word to include, I can also elaborate on authenticity and assimilation to round out the essay. I also plan to interview my mom and about how she may cover when out in public, talking to other, or how she has to cover characteristics in the workplace.
In paper 2, I hope to continue strengths I portrayed in Paper 1. I hope to continue to come back and relate to the thesis throughout the paper as I did before. I feel like this made my first essay very strong. I find this very effective for the structure of the paper as a whole. I also hope to continue to put emphasis and attention on words, either my own or in the readings I use as sources. The most recent blog post on Solomon’s reading will help me continue this strength.
