I see many parallels between what Jamison and Ofri think about empathy. I think that they both find that a major component is listening actively. Jamison was able to listen to actively to those with disease and really see and feel all the problems they were faced with. In Ofri’s article, we can see how doctors who listen to their patients for longer without interruption can better connect with hem, as this puts them on a road for actually helping them. Listening really is one of the most important aspects of empathy, allowing there to be many parallels between these writing pieces.
