Demonstrate the ability to approach writing as a recursive process that requires substantial revision of drafts for content, organization, and clarity (global revision), as well as editing and proofreading (local revision).
Throughout the course of the year, my revision process became even better, and I was really able to greatly improve my work over the entire writing process. Especially on the third project, my work improved with each draft and revision. I was able to organize my ideas in the dialogue and really get to develop my ideas with the perspective and words of the authors. From this, I had a lot of substance for my rough draft, which I then made my final paper. The organization and such for the rough draft was very much improved as I made global revisions for my final paper product. In this paper I strayed from the traditional five paragraph mold, and made it better suited for talking aloud. This was definitely a new challenge, but it made the writing process much easier as a whole. Global revision has a lot to do with the structure of the paper as a whole and the organization of your ideas, and also how you organize your analyzations, evidence, and support. While Paper 3 was not traditional, and had questions for the interview portion of the podcast, it was definitely my best piece of work, showing my great improvement in my ability to globally revise over the course of the semester.
