Jamison practices her empathy by paying close attention to actions and emotions of others. Through her essay, it seems that she is very in touch with what other people are doing and feeling in order to be empathetic towards them. She always gives away a microscope, a nice gesture that shows her skills of empathy. While she is being curious, she practices her empathy skills by having meaningful discussions with others, especially at the conference. I think that while she shows some of Zaki’s recommendations from the TED Talk, some of what she shows may because she is plans on writing this essay. While it is good practice, she may not have paid such attention or been as empathetic if she did not plan on writing an essay.
