I will be interviewing my mother, Christina. She works as a server and administrative assistant at a very well-known restaurant in Central Massachusetts. She has worked there for about 15 years. Today I will interview her about covering in the workplace, and how disabled people are treated in the restaurant business.
Questions:
Have you ever experienced covering in public or in your workplace?
How does your industry/corporation tend to people with disabilities? And how does this affect you/them? What is done to help or discourage disabled people?
Have you ever covered a characteristic of your own to change what people thought about you at work? (co-workers or customers)
Is covering necessary in the work place?
What barriers do you see in your work place? (Unequal treatment, etc.)
